Chapter 101: Picky Eating
Zhan Su went rigid.
Luo Hua, on the other hand, was completely speechless. Watching his young master suppress the urge to fly into an inexplicable rage and, with all the restraint in the world, resist hurling back the sunglasses, he shrank into the car and offered a silent blessing: Young Master, take care of yourself.
Shi Qingqing led the way, with Zhan Su following behind her, and the two of them entered the private restaurant one after the other.
The dining room was pleasantly arranged, an upscale establishment already more than half full.
A server guided them to the innermost table, where a curtain hung nearby; once drawn, it could shut out the view from outside.
Zhan Su surveyed the room several times with obvious disdain, then stepped around Shi Qingqing and took the seat furthest inside, against the wall.
It was a little farther from the crowd outside.
Shi Qingqing did not mind. Sitting on the outer side, she had a young couple dining behind her.
“Miss, may I take your order?”
With a quick gesture, the server hurried over.
“What would you like to eat, you two...?”
As she spoke, she swiftly poured each of them a cup of tea.
Shi Qingqing accepted hers, thanked her, and opened the menu.
Zhan Su did not take his. Instead, he said to Shi Qingqing, “Pour it for me.”
Shi Qingqing was sorely tempted to flip the table. On what grounds, exactly?
Even out in public, he was still making her play servant!
Though unwilling, she still poured him a cup of water with a fresh teacup. Only then did Zhan Su take it.
The server girl’s eyes, meanwhile, slid past Shi Qingqing and locked onto Zhan Su.
Even with sunglasses on, a handsome man this striking, this stylish, was rare indeed.
To be stared at by a woman at such close range... less than a meter!
Under normal circumstances, that would have been an intolerable line for Zhan Su.
Now that Shi Qingqing was here, he did not feel quite as miserable as he might have, but his expression was still deeply displeased.
Even through those oversized sunglasses, cold air seemed to be pouring off him in waves, complete with a built-in counterattack skill that dealt ten thousand points of damage. Any mortal who dared glance at him, especially a woman, would be frozen solid by his stare.
Straight at the server, he spat out an icy command: “Get lost.”
The server girl shuddered uncontrollably and stumbled backward several steps.
Shi Qingqing caught her and said, “Don’t mind him. That’s just his temper. Take our order. Which dishes here are your best, or your most expensive signature dishes?”
Zhan school heartthrob, that is enough.
Put away that domineering, rude attitude. Are you made of gold or something?
A single wrong word and you’re telling people to get lost.
Do you think the whole world belongs to your family?
She had firmly decided she would no longer be his maid if he kept being such an awful-tempered heartthrob. Self-respect, do you even know what that means?
Yes. Exactly.
The server girl, recovering from her fright, came back to herself. “Yes, of course. These dishes here are all our house specialties. Our leaping-over-the-dragon-gate fish, ten-thousand-flower silver tree, and seahorse with banana blossom... are all very distinctive and very popular...”
Zhan Su gave a cold snort. At least this extra had a little conscience and knew enough to recommend him the best.
After hearing the list, Shi Qingqing went, “Oh, all right. None of those. Bring us mapo tofu, shredded pork in garlic sauce, and a winter melon soup, that’ll do.”
The server girl...
Zhan Su spat out a mouthful of tea.
“Fine, just bring the food quickly. Thanks for your trouble.”
With a wave of her hand, Shi Qingqing sent the stunned server girl away.
Zhan Su glared at her with a chill that could freeze to the bone, his eyes full of displeasure.
“What’s wrong with whatever food there is? Don’t be so picky, Senior. If you really mind, then pay me the wages from the past two days. At least then I’d have a thousand yuan, enough to treat you to a few signature dishes or something.”
