Chapter 118: Oh God!
Shi Qingqing jabbed her elbow into his waist and spat out a single word: "Get lost!"
A stifled, low chuckle rumbled from Zhan Su beside her.
Shi Qingqing felt like crying. Could they not just have a normal, pleasant time?
The escalator soon reached its end. The two entered the supermarket, grabbed a shopping cart, and headed straight for the section containing rice, flour, and condiments.
"What kind of flavors do you usually like? Sour, sweet, bitter, or spicy?" Shi Qingqing asked her benefactor first, so she would know what seasonings to buy.
"Light."
Shi Qingqing nodded and picked out some mild seasonings.
In the grain and oil aisle, she asked again, "What brand of instant noodles do you like?"
"I’ve never had them."
Shi Qingqing: ... >_<|||
There were actually people in this world who had never eaten instant noodles! How incredible! She picked out a few varieties she liked best.
Throughout the trip, whenever it was crowded, Zhan Su would lean against Shi Qingqing, his expression blank but his breathing shallow. Whenever they were in a quieter area, he would look around here and there, appearing thoroughly curious.
"You haven't been to a supermarket before, have you?" she asked offhandedly.
"Mn."
"What? Really? Your first time? And you’re spending this precious first time with me?" Shi Qingqing was surprised, feeling a mix of astonishment and flattery.
On second thought, she supposed it wasn't impossible. This was Zhan Su! The nation’s little prince! With people waiting on him hand and foot, why would he ever need to shop for himself?
"Master Zhan, tell me, what other things have you never done? Let’s do them together," Shi Qingqing said, brimming with enthusiasm.
"Why?"
"In case I ever go broke," Shi Qingqing replied, "I can write a book—an autobiography. 'The Year, The Day, I Took the Nation’s Campus Heartthrob Supermarket Shopping.' Maybe I’ll become a huge hit and earn a living that way..."
"Idiot!"
Shi Qingqing felt indignant. She was a woman who relied on her talents! Surely she couldn't even write an autobiography?
Glancing aside, she noticed someone was actually trying to sneak a photo of Zhan Su! It was the two women who had been whispering behind them on the escalator.
Zhan Su seemed to have noticed as well.
Shi Qingqing turned her head to avoid being photographed, while Zhan Su lowered his head, annoyed, and pushed up his sunglasses... In that fleeting moment, their lips brushed against each other by accident.
Zhan Su’s breath hitched.
The sweet, delicate fragrance unique to a young girl flooded all his senses. An electric current, like flowing water, surged through both of them the instant their lips touched. An inexplicable spark ignited within them, bursting in both their hearts.
A flush of crimson rose to Shi Qingqing’s small face, and her heart began to beat so wildly she feared it might leap right out of her chest...
Good heavens!
Did she just kiss the nation’s campus heartthrob again?
The last time, it had been to save someone; she had forced a kiss on him, and she hadn't felt much of anything... But this time, her heart was racing so fast she felt as if she had forgotten how to walk. What was this feeling of her soul leaving her body?
Oh my, oh my—was it because of that electric shock?
Zhan Su was the first to recover. Seeing that someone was still taking photos, he pulled Shi Qingqing into his arms and, in a few swift strides, moved them behind another aisle, ducking out of the crowd.
Looking at Shi Qingqing’s flushed face, Zhan Su coolly accused, "Well, well! You’ve actually stolen another kiss from me!"
Shi Qingqing: ...
Hey! Mr. Campus Heartthrob, do you have any shame left? She was a girl, for heaven's sake!
However, that surge of electricity just now had definitely restored her phone's battery. Come to think of it, she had indeed taken advantage of him. Thus, Shi Qingqing could only glare at him, hateful yet frustrated, unable to find a single word to refute him.
