Near the Third Ring Road in the capital, in a high-end villa district located to the southwest of the city, a tall, thin young man swiped his access card at the gate and walked slowly into the complex.

An elderly woman walked toward him and greeted him warmly, "Xu, you're here again!"

Xu looked up and offered a shy smile. "Auntie Zhang, I have a set schedule. I walk the dog for my clients every three days. I should have come earlier, but the owners called to say they were traveling abroad, so I slept in!"

Auntie Zhang chuckled, and after a few words of casual conversation, they passed each other.

The smile on Xu’s face vanished instantly. Within a few seconds, he transformed from a sunny, handsome college student working a part-time job into an utterly unremarkable passerby. His gaze was constantly shifting, as if he were vigilantly scanning his surroundings to collect information.

After walking a few steps and confirming that no one else was around, Xu lowered his head again, focusing his attention on the newspaper in his hand.

"‘Once upon a time, you lived like summer flowers...’ Xu Wei’s songs, Pu Shu’s songs, Jay Chou’s, Wang Leehom’s, and Mao Buyi’s. Heh, you really plagiarized quite a comprehensive list, you brat!"

Looking at the large photo in the newspaper, Xu merely gave a cursory glance at Xia Luo’s silly, grinning face before focusing his eyes on Gao Ning’s expressionless visage.

"It seems it’s you. I suppose this is your first time encountering a special mission mode; you revealed yourself so impatiently. Do you think that just because direct attacks are ineffective, I have no way to deal with you? How pitifully ignorant!"

Xu sneered, carefully folded the newspaper, and tossed it into a nearby trash can.

This was an upscale residential area with lush greenery. The walk felt like traveling through a garden, and the paths were wide and spacious, yet there wasn't a single car in sight. He walked for about ten minutes until a villa gradually appeared before him.

Xu stood at the corner of the road for a minute, quietly listening to the sounds around him. Once he confirmed there was no one else in the vicinity, he took out a key, opened the door, and stepped into the villa.

It had been exactly a month and a half since he entered this mission world. During this time, Xu had not focused on completing the mission; instead, he had spent time securing his identity. He was born in Xihong City, not far from the Seventh Middle School. After a day of simple elimination, he confirmed that this was the world of *Goodbye Mr. Loser*.

After reviewing the mission requirements, Xu resolutely left Xihong City and headed for the capital. He spent several hours lurking near a night market until he selected a college student whose build and height were similar to his own, and who even shared a slight resemblance in the face. He bought a hat, grabbed a stack of flyers, and pretended to be a recruiter for part-time distribution work. After a brief conversation, the student happily followed him.

By the next day, Xu had obtained the student’s full set of identification documents and inherited all his assets. As for the real student, Xu had dumped him right at the entrance of a hospital; he was likely lying in the intensive care unit by now.

After all, he was a veteran traveler. Both his psyche and his methods had been tempered into something inhuman. To him, the natives of the mission world were merely NPCs; whether they lived or died was of no concern to him. Any means that helped him complete his mission were acceptable.

Of course, this was a special mission plane where his abilities were sealed. Although time-currency could be consumed, such precious resources were better kept for when they were truly needed.

Once his identity was settled, he found a suitable high-end villa district, posed as a flyer distributor, and scouted the area for three days before finding a pair of perfect targets. A few days later, Xu had a place to stay, while the two rich kids were already locked inside the villa’s built-in cold storage unit, having long since frozen stiff.

Xu’s body was somewhat unique. Although he appeared to be human on the surface, he had actually converted himself into a liquid-metal robot several worlds ago. Even though the mandatory ability suppression had transformed his body into that of an ordinary human, his tissues and hair could not be shed, and he had no fingerprints or palm prints. When it came to impersonating others, Xu was an absolute master.

Furthermore, villa districts were even more detached than ordinary neighborhoods; neighbors were rarely familiar with one another. As long as he handled the property management, no one would suspect anything.

For the following month, Xu posed as a college student doing part-time dog walking, frequently entering and exiting the complex while keeping his registration active with the property management office. On the surface, there was nothing suspicious, but he was active every night. Utilizing hacking techniques far superior to this era, he bypassed the telephone lines to infiltrate the police database, easily digging up the files of many individuals.

These past few days, Xu had been screening target individuals from the database and visiting them one by one. Through clever maneuvers, he funneled their assets into the stock market and used foundation accounts as a springboard to transfer the money directly overseas. After letting the funds roll through global financial markets, he transferred them back into the country under different names, effectively turning them into legitimate investment capital.

He used this money to buy a small machining plant in Xihong City and was just about to return to manufacture a batch of firearms himself when he unexpectedly heard news of an opposing player.

Indeed, from the very beginning, Xu had never intended to complete the mission in a short time. Becoming a celebrity with over ten million fans in this era was by no means an easy task. Moreover, the mission spanned a long period—twenty years, to be exact.

Therefore, Xu was not in a hurry. His primary goal was to eliminate the hostile player first. The restriction that prevented effective attacks was, in his view, nothing of great consequence. As long as he could imprison the opponent and cut them off from the outside world, it would be equivalent to knocking them out of the game. Once that was done, he could use his funds to infiltrate the entertainment industry; whether through film or variety show investments, if he stayed patient, he would eventually complete the mission.

In fact, he only needed to wait a few years for the era of "entertainment to death" to arrive, at which point ten million followers would be a trivial matter.

Xu took the dog food from the cabinet, poured some for the dog that was already yapping hungrily, and then turned to head upstairs.

Before he took action, he needed more information on the "White plus Black" duo. It would be best to find their hideout and retrieve some hair or skin cells from their home, or perhaps cigarette butts. If he could do that, the two corpses in the cold storage would come in handy.

A cold smirk played on Xu’s lips. Corpses, after all, were excellent tools.
