Chapter 150 Burial Together
Kudo Yuichi reached out, wearing malevolent wicked claws on both hands as a terrifying aura suddenly erupted from him.
The Yin energy was stirred into turbulent ripples, and instantly, ghostly phantoms flickered, coalescing into a ghastly spectral face.
A monstrous wave of evil and baleful Qi rolled forward like a surging tide. For a moment, Kudo Yuichi felt a tremor in his heart; such dense and potent malevolent Qi made him hesitate to act rashly.
Meanwhile, outside the secret chamber, I let out a long sigh of relief, smiled coldly, and thought to myself, "As long as I stall this old fellow, my goal is achieved."
In the military camp's missile launch room, dozens of Japanese officers were busy at work.
Outside the door, a streak of black light flashed, and the heads of two sentry guards suddenly flew into the air.
At the very instant their heads detached, their eyes still held a look of confusion, followed immediately by sheer terror, but in the next second, all life had vanished from them.
*Bang.*
The heavy door was blasted open. The busy Japanese officers turned their heads abruptly to see a pair of violent, bloodthirsty eyes. The owner of those eyes grinned hideously at them: "Time to hit the road. Go down as burial companions for my Chinese compatriots."
In a flash, a sweep of bloody shadows rushed past, leaving dozens of corpses strewn across the floor.
Shrouded in a murderous aura of blood and evil, I walked up to the master control screen and pressed the launch button.
Instantly, the camp's missile system activated, and over a dozen missile silos opened simultaneously.
"Hahaha, off you go!" I grinned savagely.
At the same time, more than a dozen missiles soared into the sky, streaking toward the remaining ten strongholds and the headquarters of the Miyamoto family in Tianshui Dao.
*Boom, boom, boom!*
Violent explosions and blazing fires erupted in the distance, and the entire sky over Tianshui Dao was enveloped in thick smoke and fiery light.
By this time, I had already slipped away quietly. Back in the secret chamber, Kudo Yuichi, who had been trapped by the terrifying baleful Qi, turned pale with shock and charged out recklessly, only to discover that the oppressive Qi was merely an illusion. He was so angry he almost vomited blood.
"Damn it, the Miyamoto family headquarters actually has an anti-missile system!" I muttered curses under my breath, watching from a distance.
The entire city of Tianshui Dao had descended into chaos. Unsuspecting citizens thought China had launched an invasion.
Building after building was reduced to rubble. Since many core members of the Miyamoto family had been waiting for me at those ten strongholds like rabbits waiting by a tree, their forces were now practically decimated.
Walking in disguise through the chaotic streets, watching corpses being pulled out from the ruins, I felt a pang of reluctance in my heart.
Many of these bodies belonged to ordinary civilians living near the strongholds; they were completely innocent.
Yet, when I recalled the tens of thousands of Chinese compatriots who had died tragic deaths, that trace of hesitation was mercilessly crushed down.
My revenge was not over yet...
...
Miyamoto Zeyoshi's aged face was twisted with fury. Never in his wildest dreams had he expected that, despite spinning an inescapable net of death for that Chinese cultivator, the man would instead hijack the military camp's missile system. All ten strongholds had been flattened to the ground, and nearly all the elites inside had perished.
Most importantly, over a hundred cultivators from the Wicked Claw sect had died without even catching a glimpse of the Chinese cultivator's face.
This was a humiliation—an utter disgrace to the entire Miyamoto family!
"Deploy the army! Conduct a carpet search! And have everyone search everywhere. If you fail to capture that Chinese cultivator, all of you can commit seppuku!" Miyamoto Zeyoshi roared like a frenzied beast.
Throughout Tianshui Dao, heavily armed soldiers were everywhere. Every single street was guarded by heavy tanks, and armed helicopters hovered relentlessly in the sky.
Every room was being checked one by one by soldiers, and even the city's sewers were not spared.
Such a thorough search left no escape, whether soaring to the skies or burrowing into the earth.
Oda Ayaka's villa was also surrounded by troops, and cultivators led squads of soldiers to break in.
"Audacious! How dare you trespass into Miss Oda's residence?" a middle-aged man demanded sternly, emitting the aura exclusive to an intermediate Onmyoji.
"Oda Ichiro, long time no see." The cultivator leading the team was a charming and alluring woman, who smiled as she greeted Oda Ichiro.
"So it is Lady Asano. You know Miss Oda's status; I advise you not to act recklessly." Oda Ichiro's brow twitched. This Lady Asano, whose full name was Asano Yoshiko, was a cultivator equivalent to a ninth-rank Onmyoji and held a very high position within the Wicked Claw sect.
"Now that a Chinese Onmyoji is stirring up such bloody chaos in our nation, if this person escapes alive, where will Japan's honor be? I am well aware of Miss Oda's standing and will not cause trouble, but the necessary search must still be conducted," Asano Yoshiko said with a gentle smile that felt like a spring breeze.
Oda Ichiro hesitated for a moment before gesturing to his subordinates to cooperate.
Asano Yoshiko met with Oda Ayaka, who brewed tea and invited her to sit down.
"Miss Oda, please don't be nervous. This is just a routine search and inquiry. Have you encountered any strange people or strange events recently?" Asano Yoshiko asked with a smile.
Oda Ayaka thought for a moment, shook her head, and replied, "Lady Asano, I have been diligently cultivating these past few days."
Asano Yoshiko smiled, her eyes flashing with a faint grayish glow as she swept her gaze quickly across Oda Ayaka, finding nothing unusual.
Then, she turned her gaze toward a manservant and a maid standing behind Oda Ayaka. They, too, showed no abnormalities.
After finishing a cup of tea, a subordinate came in from outside to report that nothing had been found in the villa.
Asano Yoshiko stood up and said, "Miss Oda, sorry for the intrusion."
She turned and took two steps, but suddenly whirled back, her piercing gaze fixed on the manservant standing behind Oda Ayaka.
"You, come here." Asano Yoshiko crooked her finger.
The manservant walked over trembling, looking utterly terrified, his very feet shaking.
Asano Yoshiko lifted the manservant's chin and suddenly slid her hand down, patting his chest a few times.
"What is your name?" A hint of amorous warmth suddenly surfaced in Asano Yoshiko's eyes.
"Kim... Kimura Akira..." the manservant stammered.
"Well, you have a scent on you that I find quite pleasing," Asano Yoshiko remarked, then turned to Oda Ayaka. "Miss Oda, how about gifting this manservant to me?"
"I am sorry, Lady Asano. He belongs to me, and what is mine remains mine," Oda Ayaka replied neither servilely nor overbearingly.
"What a pity." Asano Yoshiko withdrew her hand and turned to leave.
When all of them had retreated from the villa, the terrified look in the manservant's eyes deep-set into something unfathomable.
*Damn it, I actually got hit on by this woman,* I thought to myself, breaking out in a cold sweat. The manservant was my disguise; in reality, such a person had indeed existed, but I had already disposed of his body completely.
Under my instruction, Oda Ayaka summoned Oda Ichiro and said, "I want to go to the Miyamoto family to see their head."
Soon, Oda Ayaka set off in three cars, accompanied by the manservant and maid (both disguised forms of myself), along with Oda Ichiro and several elite guards.
However, at the very first intersection, a roadblock stopped them.
"Are you blind? This is Miss Oda's vehicle, and we are heading to Fulin Mountain," Oda Ichiro shouted angrily.
"Orders from above: no one is allowed on the streets. You had better turn back," a Japanese officer replied.
"Insolent fool!" Oda Ichiro slapped the Japanese officer across the face.
Instantly, several heavy machine gun barrels swung around to aim at them.
Oda Ayaka waved her hand from the car window and made a phone call: "Uncle Miyamoto, it's Ayaka. I am very frightened by what has happened, and I wish to move to Fulin Mountain."
After hanging up the phone, it wasn't long before a senior military officer hurried over, bowing and scraping in profuse apology to Oda Ayaka before ordering the roadblock cleared.
The three vehicles passed through unhindered and arrived at the Miyamoto family estate at the foot of Fulin Mountain.
The Miyamoto family's residence was built against the mountain, with a large portion actually embedded directly into the rock face. Rather than a mere family estate, it resembled a military base.
The group got out of the cars, and people came forward to welcome them, though Miyamoto Zeyoshi himself did not appear.
As I was looking around, someone suddenly blocked me and the others from following further.
"Why are you stopping my people?" Oda Ayaka demanded sharply.
"Pardon me, Miss Oda, but apart from you, who are permitted to enter the inner courtyard, everyone else must remain in the outer courtyard. This is our Miyamoto family rule," a middle-aged man dressed in traditional Japanese attire said with a smile, his tone, however, utterly resolute.
I felt a pang of disappointment. Clearly, the inner courtyard was reserved for the core members of the Miyamoto family, and sneaking in there seemed impossible. Still, having Oda Ayaka get inside was enough.
Oda Ayaka went deep into the estate alone, while I and the others were led to the quarters in the outer courtyard.
"Your range of movement is restricted strictly to this area. If anyone wanders around, bear the consequences yourselves," warned a junior manager of the Miyamoto family who had escorted us there.
