Hearing his words, my hands suddenly stilled in the act of slicing vegetables, suspended midair, unsure of what to say. He stood quietly behind me, and at times, I couldn't quite fathom what went on in his mind.

Just like now—was he a man, or a master?

That was the question—one well worth pondering.

Clicking my tongue, I resumed chopping, while Wangchuan continued to silently embrace me from behind.

I thought of the stool beneath my feet, the only way he could bend down enough to hug me, and felt a surge of frustration. Then, in the gentlest voice I could muster, I pleaded, "Master, could you turn me back to my original form?"

"Reason," he replied.

"Because I can't reach the knife."

"I'll get it for you," he said.

"Um... I'm too short; people discriminate against me."

"As long as I don't discriminate, that's fine," he answered.

"You..." I slapped the knife down. "In any case, I want to be taller! At least back to how I was!"

"In that case, you won't fit into these clothes," Wangchuan said, eyeing the little dress I had hastily grabbed from the wardrobe, complete with an apron, sighing softly.

I gritted my teeth, gazing at the beautiful dresses, feeling reluctant to give them up. But stepping outside with my half-human, half-cat appearance—what would I look like?

So I wrestled with myself for a while before finally, with a pout, replied, "Then... then I want to change back, too..."

Wangchuan chuckled, "We'll see how you behave."

"Huh?" This plot twist seemed off—as if I hadn't said anything at all.

What a sly old fox, I thought, grinding my teeth and continuing to cook.

In the end, the dishes I set on the table were mostly stir-fried greens, two fried eggs, and a giant glass of milk.

A super-sized glass! Seeing the milk in the fridge, I suddenly felt it was the thing I wanted most in the world.

"I thought you said you didn't eat eggs?" Wangchuan looked at the eggs, his face showing rare disdain.

"I'll eat them," I declared. After what had happened, I felt a bit indignant, so my tone was less than pleasant.

But as soon as the words left my mouth, I knew I was in for trouble.

I sneaked a glance at Wangchuan—he wasn't angry, but he still frowned at the other dishes.

I admitted it was deliberate; I had cooked heaps of greens. Wangchuan's meals used to be mostly meat, with vegetables only for color.

But I was in a foul mood, so I ended up making a table full of vegetables.

Wangchuan was a Qiongqi. According to Xiaoyun's description, Qiongqi had the stubbornness of a bull and the features of a tiger.

In other words, a carnivore. So it made sense that he ate meat every meal.

But when I saw him reach for my huge glass of milk, I lost my composure.

"That's mine!" I stretched out to snatch it back, but he deftly avoided me.

"Which one is yours?" He raised an eyebrow, grinning broadly.

"The milk," I mumbled, knowing I was in the wrong. "Fine, it's not mine."

I pouted, crestfallen, but the only words echoing in my mind were: I brought this upon myself.

"Come, kneel," Wangchuan waved a hand, unexpectedly smiling.

But that smile made me feel even more uneasy, my heart tumbling about, uncertain what to do.

Still, after a long hesitation, I shuffled over, tail swaying, and knelt down, my hands naturally resting on his knees.

This time he didn't push me away, which gave me some reassurance.

He handed me the milk. "Drink. Don't swallow."

I held the glass, drinking but not swallowing.

Milk in my mouth, he reached out and began to scratch my chin.

"Gurgle—cough!"

A natural sound bubbled up from my throat, accompanied by a bubble. The result was that I swallowed the milk in a panic, some of it running down my neck, which Wangchuan scraped with his fingers, then brought back to my mouth.

But his fingers lingered at my lips, refusing to move, then finally slipped into my mouth.

"Lick."

I swallowed and complied.

Even drinking milk... felt oddly intimate...

It seemed Wangchuan was truly fascinated by my tongue, which made me a little worried.

Would he, after tiring of me, cut out my tongue to keep as a souvenir?

That enormous glass of milk was finished in this torturous manner.

Even as I was nearly choked to death, Wangchuan kept commanding me to lick his fingers.

I must have rolled my eyes countless times in the process, deeply regretting having poured such a huge glass of milk!

"Was that fun?"

Wangchuan kept smiling, stroking my chin.

"No," I muttered, my mind almost muddled.

He finally laughed outright, glancing at the now cold dishes on the table, shaking his head.

"With nothing to eat, I have to find something to play with."

With that, he picked me up and carried me straight to the bed.

...

The end result was that I became his meal, dragged about by my collar, unable to escape.

I don't know how many times I was ravaged before Wangchuan finally let me go, yielding to my muffled pleas for mercy.

Just before I drifted into sleep, I wondered how much pain I'd feel the next day. Oh god...

But when I awoke, I found myself not in bed, but on the carpet beside it.

Naked, but not cold. When I tried to move, I discovered a chain had been fastened to my collar at some point!

I tugged at it, finding it locked securely to a ring beneath the bed, solid and unbreakable.

"Huh?"

What was happening now?

Page 2/3

To my surprise, my body wasn't aching as I'd expected; it felt a bit cool, as if he'd tended to me...

How had he done that?

My brow twitched as I sat on the floor, unable to move with the chain, left to ponder.

Where had Wangchuan gone? Why wouldn't he let me move? What mischief was he planning now?

Suddenly, I glanced at my hands and found they were much larger than yesterday!

The chain wouldn't let me stand, but at a glance, I was delighted to discover I'd regained my original height!

Thank heaven, I was no longer a tiny runt!

Delighted, I basked in my good fortune for a while, then again, until I realized that the sky outside was nearly dark.

It seemed I'd slept a long time—where had Wangchuan gone?

Unable to move, I could only lie on the ground and wait, until night fell completely and the room was shrouded in darkness.

The lamp was far out of reach, so I dragged the bed covers down to wrap myself up.

But I'd slept so much that it was impossible to fall asleep again, my mind filled with thoughts of what Wangchuan was doing, why he'd chained me.

The room was pitch black, draining away my sense of security, and fear began to creep in.

Worse still, the blanket was saturated with Wangchuan's scent.

Unconsciously, I reacted to it, just as I instinctively wanted to drink milk whenever I saw it.

I rubbed my legs, feeling increasingly that my life was falling apart.

How had it come to this? Even if I'd found a powerful man, surely I wasn't meant to live like this.

I had never imagined that one day I'd have cat ears sprouting from my head, a tail from my backside, a collar around my neck, chained to the bed.

And surely, this was a life no one could have envisioned.

Even if I'd once fantasized about being restrained, I never imagined I'd end up half-human, half-cat.

In the pitch-black night, strange cries sounded outside now and then—I had no idea what made them. The moon was dim, and the room felt like a basement, utterly impervious to light.

For the first time, I felt deeply uneasy, all alone.

Rolling about, anger boiled within me—why hadn't Wangchuan returned? If he wasn't coming back, why lock me up?

Finally, losing all reason, I began to gnaw at the chain.

It was something I'd never do as a human, but somehow, now, I did it.

But with human teeth, there was no way to bite through iron, so I gave up, lying back on the blanket, curling myself up like a spring roll.

Until I heard the door make a strange sound—a click as someone entered the room.

I rolled up quickly, nearly burrowing under the bed.

I imagined my eyes must have flashed like a cat's, terrified.

And then, I heard a familiar voice.

"Did you miss me?"
