Chapter 119: They Really Did Break His Leg

Wang Li no longer held back. Fearing he might not be able to seize Zhen Jingzi in one move, he concentrated all his strength into his hands. Considering Zhen Jingzi’s high level of spatial law mastery, Wang Li refrained from using spatial power directly. Instead, he employed the Soul-Sealing Art to strike at Zhen Jingzi’s spirit sea, with the attacks from his hands serving only as a feint, never intended to land.
After refinement, the Soul-Sealing Art was no longer just a technique for area attacks; it could now simultaneously strike multiple targets or focus on a single one, with concentrated attacks delivering multiplied force.
Illusory sword shadows concealed within a bursting fiery dragon surged headlong toward Zhen Jingzi.
Sensing the tremendous power erupting from Wang Li’s attack, Zhen Jingzi was momentarily startled.
“This power is far beyond what a Cultivation Realm master should possess. This old fox is truly formidable!”
Surprised, yet unafraid, he steadied himself.
The peak power Wang Li unleashed was no more than that of a Seventh-Level Tribulation Realm expert. As a veteran Tribulation Realm master himself, Zhen Jingzi was not intimidated.
He chose to face the attack head-on rather than evade it.
His long sword split into four: one blade blocked Wang Li’s fiery dragon, the second circled behind to stab at his back, the third soared upward before striking toward Wang Li’s forehead, and the fourth plunged underground to attack his lower body.
This maneuver ensnared Wang Li entirely within his attack range.
Not daring to underestimate his opponent, Wang Li, while launching his full-strength assault, tore open the nearby spatial network, creating a spatial rift through which he slipped, narrowly evading Zhen Jingzi’s strikes.
Zhen Jingzi had already learned from other disciples of the Pure Yang Sect that Wang Li wielded mental attack techniques, so he was prepared.
When dispersing the incoming fiery dragon, he activated defensive spiritual artifacts within his spirit sea and soul. As the fiery dragon dissipated, a fierce mental force slammed into these defenses.
“Ah!”
Zhen Jingzi mimicked Wang Li’s tactic by slipping into the spatial rift to evade attacks.
He realized that though Wang Li had profound insight into spatial laws, his cultivation level limited his ability to pierce space outright. Thus, hiding within a spatial rift naturally allowed one to dodge Wang Li’s assaults.
What surprised him, however, was that while Wang Li could not attack through the spatial barrier, he could easily pinpoint his location and even use nodes within the spatial grid to launch attacks!

Wang Li manipulated the spatial law nodes at the edge of the spatial rift where Zhen Jingzi was hiding, causing chaotic spatial turbulence—free from law constraints—to compress inward, relentlessly closing in on Zhen Jingzi’s position.
Panic surged through Zhen Jingzi’s mind.
Was Wang Li trying to kill him?
Spatial turbulence was no trivial matter.
It was a destructive energy devoid of law constraints, pulverizing anything it touched. For cultivators, it was perilous, and even those who mastered spatial laws found it difficult to resist.
To avoid being crushed to dust, Zhen Jingzi abandoned the spatial rift without hesitation.
Of course, Wang Li never intended to kill him; after all, they were fellow disciples. The spatial turbulence was merely a means to force him out.
Once Zhen Jingzi emerged, he was met with a heavy whip strike, sending him crashing hard onto the ground.
He was unlucky—knocked unconscious by the blow, he failed to evade the earth spikes beneath him.
“Pfft, pfft…”
Two sounds of flesh and bone piercing echoed as Zhen Jingzi’s legs were firmly impaled.
“Heh, that really broke his legs!”
Wang Li shook his head, confirming Zhen Jingzi was no longer capable of resistance. He approached and placed his palm on Zhen Jingzi’s brow.
The Soul-Sealing Art activated once more.
This time, rather than attacking his spirit and mind, Wang Li used his mental power and divine perception to envelop the mysterious energy within Zhen Jingzi’s body, gently drawing it out.
“What kind of energy is this? It feels sinister,” Wang Li asked Elder Sheng.
“A seed of world consciousness. Not something good, but it can be used to forge your destined spiritual weapon. It’s quite a rare material for forging,” Elder Sheng explained. “Extract the world consciousness seeds from those two others as well. Given the ranks in the Tian Xuan World, there won’t be many of these seeds. A few more and you should have enough.”

Elder Sheng had long promised to help Wang Li forge a powerful destined weapon, but various matters had delayed it. This was only the second time in over a decade the topic had resurfaced.
The Exploding Flame Sword and Earth Spirit Armor were high-grade, but unsuitable for Wang Li. As his strength grew, he rarely used these two Earth-Grade spiritual artifacts anymore.
After collecting the will seeds from Tian Nan and Huai Ji, Wang Li pulled Zhen Jingzi free from the earth spikes and healed his legs.
He did not trouble the three and, after ensuring their safety, left the spatial prison.
Liu Wanjin, relieved to learn that the three had recovered, said to Wang Li, “Now that the Pure Yang Sect is sealed, I will accompany you back. I’m uneasy about the Scripture Pavilion.”
Upon hearing the mention of the Scripture Pavilion, Wang Li recalled his master. He inquired, “Where is Elder Chu Xuan now? I wish to see her.”
