Chapter Sixty-Five: The Half-Year Promise

Tang Ze shook his head helplessly, his heart aching as he lifted Yao Ye and placed him gently on a chair. With mounting anxiety, Tang Ze hurried over to Liu Xin, grasped her arm and began his examination. His face was filled with disbelief as he stared at the sleeping Liu Xin; stunned for a long moment, he checked several times before finally letting go of her arm.

“How can this be? Anyone whose heart veins are severed is doomed! But what exactly did Yao Ye do? How did Liu Xin’s injuries heal so quickly? And what was that surge of life energy just now?”

Tang Ze glanced at Yao Ye, who was also unconscious, his curiosity growing deeper.

He chuckled softly, “You little monster, what have you done? But you truly are a lucky star! That you could save her—it's simply unbelievable!”

Remembering that Yao Ye belonged to Divine Wind Academy, Tang Ze’s mood brightened and he laughed heartily.

Having arranged matters with Zhao Mu, Elder Fu hurried back. As he entered the house, he was greeted by Tang Ze’s cheerful laughter.

“What could possibly make you so happy at a time like this?”

Tang Ze pointed at the sleeping Liu Xin and laughed loudly. “Elder Fu, look! It’s incredible! This little monster Yao Ye has performed a miracle!”

Elder Fu looked at Yao Ye in confusion, then was startled, pointing at him in alarm.

“What’s going on? Why does Yao Ye look so aged? What did he do?”

Tang Ze’s mood grew somber. “I’m not sure myself. I sensed a strong flow of life energy in the room and rushed in. When I arrived, Yao Ye was already like this, and Liu Xin’s wounds were completely healed.”

Elder Fu listened to Tang Ze’s account, then gazed at Liu Xin in astonishment. “How is this possible? Are you trying to trick me?”

“Check for yourself, Elder Fu!”

Elder Fu moved to the bedside, examined Liu Xin, and his face was equally filled with disbelief. “How can this be?”

Tang Ze saw Elder Fu’s expression mirroring his own and laughed. Suddenly, he seemed to think of something, staring at Yao Ye with shock and suspicion.

“No, Yao Ye must have paid a terrible price. Otherwise, Liu Xin wouldn’t have recovered, and he wouldn’t look like this!”

Upon hearing Tang Ze’s words, Elder Fu began to examine Yao Ye. Seeing Elder Fu’s furrowed brow, Tang Ze grew anxious.

“Yao Ye, please be alright!”

Watching Elder Fu withdraw his hand and ponder, Tang Ze couldn’t help but ask, “Elder Fu, how is it? What’s wrong with Yao Ye?”

Elder Fu looked at Tang Ze, sat down heavily, and continued to muse. Tang Ze, anxious, took Yao Ye’s arm and checked him personally.

“What’s happening? Yao Ye’s potential is completely depleted! His vitality is now that of an old man! If no alternative is found within a year, he will surely die!”

Tang Ze infused a bit of energy into Yao Ye’s body. Slowly, Yao Ye opened his eyes from his slumber and, seeing Tang Ze before him, smiled softly.

Tang Ze impatiently pressed Yao Ye’s shoulder. “Yao Ye! Tell me! What happened? Why is your vitality so meager? How did Liu Xin’s wounds heal?”

Seeing Yao Ye awake, Elder Fu also stood up, watching him intently.

After a gentle smile, Yao Ye replied, “It’s nothing special. It’s simply the innate ability of my Sky Demon Wolf clan: life sharing. I used my life force to save my senior sister.”

Elder Fu, frustrated and exasperated, pointed at Yao Ye. “Do you realize you only have a year left to live? How could you be so reckless! Sigh! What am I to do with you?”

Seeing Elder Fu’s mixture of concern and reproach, Yao Ye felt a warmth in his heart.

“Elder Fu, Vice Dean, please say no more. If I couldn’t save my senior sister, I would live the rest of my life in guilt. If that were the case, I doubt I’d ever achieve anything great in the future.”

Realizing that things could not be changed, Elder Fu fell silent.

“Is there any method to restore you?” Tang Ze asked, anxious.

Yao Ye smiled. “Don’t worry, esteemed elders. As long as I successfully reach the Heavenly Ascension realm, I can recover a significant portion of my vitality.”

Elder Fu glared at Yao Ye. “Do you think breaking through to the Heavenly Ascension realm is so easy? Is there any other way?”

Yao Ye lowered his head in thought. Suddenly, his eyes lit up. “There is!”

Elder Fu and Tang Ze were overjoyed, asking in unison, “Really? What method?”

Yao Ye glanced at them in surprise. “In half a year, I’ll be able to awaken the bloodline power of my demon clan. However…”

Seeing Yao Ye stop, Tang Ze rebuked him impatiently. “There’s no time for hesitation! Speak up!”

“I need to return to the ancestral hall of the Sky Demon Wolf tribe. With the power of my ancestors’ bloodline, I can begin my awakening.”

Elder Fu pondered for a while. “This cannot be rushed. There are still six months. We must plan carefully. Now that the demon clan has allied with the demon race, there are surely powerful enemies guarding the tribe. If we go recklessly, we’ll suffer greatly.”

Tang Ze agreed, “It does require careful planning. But it’s not an insurmountable problem. Yao Ye, for now, stay with Liu Xin as much as you can. Leave everything else to us. Focus all your efforts on preparing for your awakening in six months.”

Yao Ye nodded, moved. Seeing Yao Ye’s resolve, Elder Fu and Tang Ze smiled with relief, then quietly left Liu Xin’s courtyard.
