Chapter Fifty-Six: Farewell
Tang Ze turned around and bowed deeply to Elder Fu.
“Elder Fu, may I trouble you to secretly protect Yao Ye for a while.”
Elder Fu opened his sleepy eyes and gazed at Tang Ze, asking slowly,
“I just want to know, why are you and Xiao Qing so concerned about a single student?”
Tang Ze replied,
“Elder Fu, Yao Ye is a person of great loyalty and righteousness. He has made significant contributions to the academy. Most importantly, he has forged a path that no one has ever taken before. The technique he has created inherently suppresses the demon race, and in the future, when we confront them, he will surely be a central pillar.”
“Oh? I'm rather curious to see what technique he’s practicing. But what danger does he face in the academy?”
Seeing Elder Fu’s expectant and curious expression, Tang Ze smiled softly.
“Elder Fu, you may not know—Yao Ye’s identity is quite special.”
Tang Ze organized his thoughts and sat down.
“Yao Ye is the successor of the War God Yang Xiaotian, and the young master of the Celestial Demon Wolf clan. He is also the sole surviving bloodline of his people.”
Upon hearing Tang Ze’s introduction, Elder Fu sat up straight. When he learned that Yao Ye was the only survivor, he jumped to his feet.
“What did you say? The sole survivor of the Celestial Demon Wolf clan? That can't be—if I recall, Yao Mo Ran was an outstanding talent, and no one in the demon race surpassed his cultivation. What happened? Tell me in detail!”
“It happened like this: Xiong Batian from the demon clan colluded with the demon race, catching Yao Mo Ran off guard and killing him. Only Yao Ye managed to escape, risking his life.”
As Tang Ze finished his account, Elder Fu’s aura surged, sweeping over everyone and forcing Tang Ze and the others to the ground.
Tang Ze struggled under the pressure, pleading,
“Elder Fu, please, withdraw your aura!”
“Hmph!” Elder Fu withdrew his pressure and strode toward the door. “I’ll go annihilate that damned Bear Clan right now!”
Tang Ze hurriedly called out, “Elder Fu, don’t be reckless! If we wanted to kill Xiong Batian, Dean Liu and I could do so at any time. We’re keeping him alive to motivate Yao Ye!”
After hearing this, Elder Fu angrily walked out.
“Hey, Elder Fu, don’t act impulsively! Let Yao Ye avenge his family himself!” Tang Ze quickly ran after Elder Fu.
“Little Tang, what are you doing? I’m just going to check on Yao Ye! Why are you pulling me back?”
“Uh, haha, well... Elder Fu, take care!” Tang Ze awkwardly let go of his hand.
Turning back, Tang Ze looked at Peng Lei and the others still seated in the conference room.
“Peng Lei! You heard it! Dean Liu wants you to report to him. I’ve decided to send you away from this troubled place sooner. I was planning to have you train in the mountains, but Dean Liu has already thought of it. You’ll depart tomorrow. When Yao Ye wakes up, I’ll send him to join you.”
Peng Lei stood up. “Dean Tang, we can leave tomorrow. I’d like Liu Xin to stay and care for Yao Ye. We all know she likes him—let her be with Yao Ye.”
“Alright, then. Go pack your things.”
The group then walked toward Yao Ye’s residence. At the door, they saw Liu Xin standing outside, and Peng Lei stepped forward to ask,
“Xin’er, what’s going on? Why are you outside? How is Yao Ye?”
Liu Xin turned around, her face full of sorrow.
“Senior brother, Yao Ye’s situation is dire. His soul sea is unnaturally calm, as if he’s a living dead. Elder Fu is inside treating him now, and we can’t disturb them.”
Zhao Mu clenched his teeth, frustrated by his own helplessness.
“Don’t worry, senior sister! Yao Ye will be fine! I have something to ask you!”
Peng Lei nodded to Zhao Mu.
“Liu Xin, Master has called us to report to him tomorrow. We’re leaving then.”
Liu Xin interrupted anxiously,
“Senior brother, I don’t want to leave Yao Ye. He’s unconscious, and I’m worried. Can I wait until he wakes up before I go?”
Peng Lei laughed heartily,
“Don’t worry, Xin’er. Yao Ye will be fine! He’s blessed by fate, and I’ve arranged it for you. When he wakes up, you two can join us. Now you can stay with your beloved, can’t you?”
“Senior brother!” Liu Xin blushed and shuffled her feet at Peng Lei’s teasing.
Everyone laughed at her reaction, while Liu Xin gazed anxiously into the house.
“Yao Ye, get well soon! Our group is incomplete without you!”
Peng Lei murmured. The others grew worried after hearing his words.
Just then, the sound of the door opening drew everyone’s attention, and they all rushed forward together.
