Chapter 129: Battling Fang Li
“Hm? What is this?” Fang Li stared in astonishment at Yaoye, simultaneously channeling his energy to dispel the oppressive aura radiating from him.
A faint smile appeared on Yaoye’s face. Suddenly, within a range spanning several dozen feet above and below, various planets began to revolve continuously. A blurred figure emerged at the center of the swirling celestial bodies, which orbited him like stars surrounding the moon, as if paying homage.
“This… is it a domain?” Fang Li watched in disbelief.
At the center, Huanong gripped a trident and struck violently at the luminous ring. Yaoye’s eyes snapped open, his gaze fixed on Huanong, who was full of confidence.
Seeing the trident unable to advance even an inch, Huanong’s eyes widened in surprise. Yaoye pointed at him and said, “Go!”
No sooner had Yaoye’s words fallen than the rotating miniature planets ceased their spinning and, at a speed imperceptible to the naked eye, shot toward Huanong.
“Ah!”
A scream echoed as Huanong’s trident shattered into several pieces. Blood spurted from his mouth as he collapsed to the ground.
“Disperse!”
At Yaoye’s command, the planets that had charged at Huanong vanished. After dissipating his domain, Yaoye slowly approached the fallen Huanong, whose life hung uncertain.
Huanong lay on the ground with a grim smile, forcibly channeling his energy, but not a trace of power surfaced.
“I’ve lost… I’ve been crippled!” he muttered bitterly.
Yaoye looked down upon Huanong and said, “Thank you. Not only did you help me break through my spiritual power, but you also helped me develop my domain.”
“You… pfft!”
Upon hearing Yaoye’s words, Huanong spat another mouthful of blood in anger. Fang Li laughed heartily as he approached.
“Hahaha, Ye, well done. But you must not kill him; he still has use.”
Relieved, Huanong sighed. Yaoye smiled faintly at Fang Li, then plunged his sword into Huanong’s throat.
Huanong stared at Yaoye in disbelief, clutching his throat tightly as blood gushed forth. His eyes widened, his body convulsing violently.
Yaoye withdrew the bloodied sword and quietly watched as Fang Li rushed over. Fang Li arrived beside Huanong, who had already ceased breathing, and glared furiously at Yaoye.
“Didn’t I tell you not to kill him? Why disobey me?”
“Hmph, dogs of the demon clan—I kill every one I see.”
Fang Li sneered at Yaoye’s nonchalant manner. “Very well. So you’re going back on your word and refuse to become my disciple?”
Yaoye raised the bloodied sword, pointing it at Fang Li. “Did I ever promise you? I vow to slaughter your demon clan within my lifetime.”
“Good. Then I won’t let you live.”
No sooner had Fang Li finished speaking than he launched an attack on Yaoye. Yaoye hastily lunged at Fang Li. Fang Li extended two fingers and tightly grasped the approaching long sword, then kicked fiercely at Yaoye’s chest.
Yaoye yanked the bloodied sword sharply several times, but it didn’t budge. Seeing Fang Li’s kick coming, he abandoned the sword and swiftly dodged to the side.
“Still want to fight me? Fine, let me teach you how to wield a sword!”
Fang Li seized the bloodied sword and executed several elegant sword flourishes. Yaoye’s expression darkened as he drew the Heaven’s Mark sword and charged at Fang Li once more.
“Hmph, overestimating yourself. Very well, let me show you how vast the difference in our strength truly is.”
Fang Li thrust the tip of his sword swiftly toward the back of Yaoye’s massive blade. Holding Heaven’s Mark, Yaoye felt a tremendous force strike him. His great sword veered aside and smashed into the ground.
Taking advantage of Yaoye’s momentary exhaustion, Fang Li struck his palm against Yaoye’s chest. Yaoye’s throat tightened, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
Yaoye braced himself against the ground with Heaven’s Mark, his face darkening. Fang Li pressed the attack relentlessly, leaving him no chance to recover. Yaoye was forced into a defensive stance.
The size and weight of the massive sword made Yaoye clumsy. After several exchanges, his arms and shoulders bore numerous sword wounds.
Meanwhile, Peng Yu and the others, seeing the enemies focusing on the central battlefield, desperately channeled their energy to catalyze the antidote. Once the poison was neutralized, they launched a fierce counterattack.
Due to the disparity in strength, Peng Yu and his comrades soon eliminated the invading foes. Just as Peng Yu turned to look at Yaoye, he saw him flying toward him.
“Boom!”
Yaoye crashed headfirst into the ruins. As he struggled to rise, Fang Li’s long sword stabbed toward him.
“Big brother, watch out!”
Peng Yu, noticing Yaoye was still stunned, leapt forward and embraced him. Fang Li’s sword pierced Peng Yu’s back, the tip emerging from his chest.
“Peng Yu! Are you alright?”
Fang Li withdrew the bloodied sword and stepped back three yards, coming to a halt. Yaoye held Peng Yu and approached Peng Feng and the others.
“Big brother, run! Don’t worry about us. Please take care of my father for me!”
Peng Feng hurriedly took Peng Yu. After helping to stop the bleeding, Yaoye was relieved to find Peng Yu’s injuries were not fatal. He exhaled softly and gently patted Peng Yu’s arm.
“Good brother, rest awhile. Big brother will avenge you soon.”
Turning around, Yaoye strode toward Fang Li. Fang Li spoke once more as Yaoye approached.
“I’ll ask you again: are you willing to become my disciple?”
“I’ll say it again: I’d rather die than be your student. Not only will I not become your disciple, but I will also kill you to avenge my brother.”
“Hahaha, you want to kill me? Fine, then I’ll kill you first to save time.”
Fang Li’s eyes gleamed with murderous intent as he launched another fierce and precise attack. Yaoye hastily activated his domain, enveloping Fang Li.
Trapped within the domain, Fang Li remained calm. He hurled the bloodied sword outward and closed his eyes. A massive spiritual power began to gather above his head.
The spiritual power gradually transformed into a black dragon. Yaoye glanced upward and solemnly commanded, “Go!”
Planets surged toward Fang Li. Hearing Yaoye’s voice, Fang Li snapped his eyes open, and the black dragon’s eyes followed suit. It swiped a claw, seizing one of the incoming miniature planets.
The black dragon exhaled gently, shattering the planet with a single claw. Yaoye stared in astonishment at the vivid apparition. Yet beneath the dragon, Fang Li’s body remained motionless.
Yaoye then directed his attacks at Fang Li’s physical form. Seeing numerous planets bearing down on Fang Li, the black dragon roared loudly.
The roar coalesced into a wave of sound, forming an audible shockwave that rapidly closed in on Yaoye. Every planet in its path exploded.
The shockwave soon reached Yaoye’s position. He hurriedly raised his arm to block, but with a snap, his arm broke, and he was sent flying.
Without power to sustain it, the domain collapsed. The black dragon lifted its head with a long howl, silently watching Yaoye lie defeated on the ground.
