September 2, 2020, exactly 5:00 p.m.

The six-member team led by Yeyu was ahead of the entire server in terms of level. With all the preparations Yeyu had made, their leveling speed was beyond doubt. Over time, the six had developed a certain tacit understanding, and the rapport among Yeyu, Luo Feng, and Qu Zheng was even more seamless.

Following Yeyu’s meticulously planned leveling route, and taking on side quests as they went, they had quietly reached level 31. Yeyu was confident that by midnight, they could push to level 40.

“Third Brother, I’m hungry. Let’s go eat first,” Qu Zheng said, rubbing his stomach with a pitiful expression as if he were about to cry. With his delicate features, if he dressed up as a girl, no one would doubt it.

“Yeah, we’ve been at it long enough. Let’s take a break and let our brains relax,” Luo Feng agreed, clearly supporting Qu Zheng’s suggestion. Hours of continuous gaming were taking a toll on their minds.

Yeyu nodded, then opened the guild system interface and selected the button at the bottom to send out a red packet. The guild now had over four hundred members, and according to the reports Luo Feng had received from Knowing Warmth in People, some important high-ranking members and strong fixed teams had been identified.

When players reached level 30, they could participate in the Godfall event. Each server had a different event order, and even the events themselves varied—this was part of Godfall’s unique charm. Due to the game being on a beginner server, the officials had delayed the event until the day after tomorrow.

Yeyu left these trivial matters to Luo Feng. As Luo Feng looked over the affairs, his face darkened slightly, casting a resentful glance at Yeyu—he knew Yeyu’s habit of shirking responsibilities would never change. He could only sigh in resignation.

Immediately after, the guild channel became lively. The reason was clear: Yeyu had distributed in-game coins as rewards, a random red packet of 1,000 coins. Everyone scrambled to see how much they could snatch. By Yeyu’s estimate, at least half of the members would get something.

As guild master, Yeyu felt it only right to offer this little courtesy. Luo Feng’s mouth twitched when he saw this, then shot Yeyu a fierce look and also sent out a red packet of 1,000 coins.

Currently, the most expensive item on the market was just over a hundred coins, so the coins from Liang Ye’s red packet excited everyone.

Guild member Desiring Hands: “Thanks for the boss’s red packet—I actually got 70 coins!”

Guild member South of the City: “Haha, I got 50 coins, not bad at all!”

Guild member Wild with Laughter: “Both the boss and Dark Night sent red packets! By the way, what about Brother Cold? Not sending one?”

Guild Vice Leader Knowing Warmth in People: “No need for me to send one. With the boss and Dark Night, that’s enough.”

Seeing this, Luo Feng’s lips curled into a wicked smile. “Hurry up and send the red packet!”

Guild Master Liang Ye: “Go ahead and send it.”

Guild Vice Leader Knowing Warmth in People: “This is bullying!”

Guild Manager: “Vice Leader Knowing Warmth in People has sent out a red packet of 1,000 coins. Everyone, click quickly to grab yours!”

In about ten minutes, the total 3,000-coin red packet was snatched up. Everyone got something, though some more than others. The most notable event happened at the end.

Guild Manager: “Congratulations to member Warm and Cool, who received 300 coins from the guild master Liang Ye’s red packet—the biggest share of this 3,000-coin giveaway.”

When this message was posted, the entire guild channel erupted in excitement.

Guild Hall Leader Bygone Years Unforgotten: “I’ll give you ninety points for showing off this time. I’m keeping the other ten so you don’t get cocky.”

Guild Elite Flavorful Youth: “All I want to do is give a thumbs up to Sister-in-law! No wonder you’re a couple.”

Guild Elite Flirting Captain: “Seriously impressive, I’m giving Sister-in-law a thumbs up too!”

Guild Vice Leader Dark Night: “What’s going on here? Staring wide-eyed.”

Guild Hall Leader Xinai: “Staring wide-eyed!”

Guild Hall Leader Cong Cong Cong Cong Cong: “Staring wide-eyed!”

Guild Hall Leader Great Monk Ikkyu: “Staring wide-eyed!”

Guild Hall Leader Little Qu Zheng Dang Adang: “Staring wide-eyed!”

Guild member Clear on the Seventh of July: “Staring wide-eyed! I’m keeping in formation!”

The guild channel was filled with identical “staring wide-eyed” emojis, clearing the chat. Meanwhile, on the other side, Xiao Mo was besieged by her five roommates. Their basic message: “You got all those coins just for being a couple? If you got married, you’d probably get 500 or 600 coins!”

To shut them up, Xiao Mo flashed a mischievous grin and replied, “No, that was everything he owns, haha!”

“Achoo!” Yeyu suddenly sneezed, pinching his nose with his left hand. Without responding to the guild chatter, he turned to his five companions. “Let’s go eat!”

The six of them summoned a manager, logged out of the game, and removed their Godfall headsets. Though they appeared online in the server, their status was set to sleep—one of the Godfall headset’s features.

Yeyu stretched, a hint of a smile at his lips. “This game really is for me,” he murmured.

He let out a breath, placed the Godfall headset in its protective case, and set it on the table. The six of them stood, ready to try something new at the university cafeteria.

Just then, Yeyu’s phone rang. When he saw the caller’s name on the screen, his expression became helpless. He answered, and in a heartbeat his face softened into a gentle smile, the transformation so swift that the other five stared in surprise.

A voice echoed in the dorm: “Brat, you haven’t replied to my texts. Now that you’ve gotten into university, I bet you’re just playing games all day, aren’t you?”
