Chapter 4: The Overbearing Female CEO

For reasons unknown, when her gaze met those eyes, Sun Shiyun felt a sudden tremor in her heart. Damn it! He was nothing but a country bumpkin—how could she possibly be shaken by him? Sun Shiyun bit her lip, just about to speak, when Gao Yangwei, who had long since lost his patience, jumped off the stage ahead of her.

He strode over to Ye Fei, towering above as if looking down from a great height. “Kid, Shiyun is my woman. You, a rustic nobody, still dare to reach above your station? For the sake of the agreement between you and the Sun family, I’ll pretend nothing happened just now! I know exactly what goes on in people like you—you claim you don’t want compensation, but in truth your appetite is huge and you want more! Don’t forget, eat too much and you’ll end up dead!”

With that, he pulled out a small checkbook from his pocket, scribbled a string of numbers, tore off the check, and handed it to Ye Fei. “This is a check for one hundred thousand. Take it and disappear from my sight!”

“One hundred thousand?” Ye Fei raised an eyebrow.

“What, too little?” Gao Yangwei sneered. “It’s not much to me, but for people like you, it’s enough to live easy for years. Don’t be greedy!”

Smack!

He flung the check to the ground. “Get lost!”

“Get lost? Perhaps you could show me how it’s done?” Ye Fei replied with utter disdain.

“What did you say?” Gao Yangwei was furious. “Kid, I’ve been more than polite. Push your luck again and I swear I’ll break your legs and make you a cripple!”

“Yangwei, why waste words with him? Just throw him out!” Li Ruomei’s shrill voice rang out. “Giving him a hundred thousand is a waste—better spent on feeding the dogs!”

“That’s right, he doesn’t know his place!”

“Do it! Make him pay dearly!”

The Sun family shouted fiercely.

“Kid, you heard them!” Gao Yangwei signaled with a wave, and a dozen suited bodyguards immediately surrounded Ye Fei.

“I told you, you’re not qualified to speak to me. My question was for Sun Shiyun.” Ye Fei ignored them all. “Sun Shiyun, answer me!”

Sun Shiyun drew a deep breath. “Ye Fei, though we have a marriage contract, you’re not worthy of me. So, I refuse this engagement!”

“Very well.” Ye Fei, having received her answer, gave up any hope for them. “This is something you owe my master. Sooner or later, I will see justice done!”

“Still so arrogant!” Gao Yangwei’s eyes flashed with cruelty. “Take him down!”

“I didn’t want to lift a hand against you, but you insist on being punching bags!” Ye Fei’s expression grew cold, a powerful aura quietly brewing.

The Sun family’s duplicity and reversal of truth had infuriated him enough.

He didn’t mind venting a little.

“President Lin Qiqing of Wangu Group has arrived to offer congratulations!”

Just as the tension was about to explode, the steward at the door called out loudly.

The air froze for several seconds before chaos erupted.

“What? Did I hear right? President Lin of Wangu Group?”

“She’s come personally to congratulate?”

The crowd erupted.

When he heard the name Lin Qiqing, it sounded familiar—turns out she was his second senior sister!

Why had she come herself?

Ye Fei chuckled, thinking his second senior sister truly exuded the aura of a leader.

“I don’t like the Sun family, and I have no interest in this fiancée. So, I’ll dissolve the engagement!”
