Chapter 117: Helping Senior Sister Chase Her Money
Ye Fei nodded lightly and said calmly, “Well said, but I’m not looking to die—I just want to beat someone up.” Before his words had even fallen, he threw a punch that knocked out the detective’s front tooth.
“Ah! What happened? Where’s my tooth?”
“Whoa, that was fast!”
Before anyone could get a clear look, Ye Fei had already taken down the man at the front.
Manager Wang shouted from behind, “Are you going to act or what? Do you want some clueless kid to ride over you? If word gets out, how will our company survive in this industry?”
His words made sense, yet a detective agency that’s supposed to prioritize investigation now had to rank fighting skills first?
Even without his tooth, the detective covered his mouth, eager to strike back.
Ye Fei sneered. He hadn’t intended to fight today, but since these guys wanted a sparring partner, he would oblige.
Swish!
In an instant, something flew past Manager Wang’s eyes, and then the world fell silent.
Ye Fei stood before them, hands open, and said, “You guys are so fragile—fainting already?”
What?
Who was this guy?
Wang Wei had a mental catalog of all the important figures in Hang City, but who was this stranger with no information available?
With only himself left to fight, Wang Wei suddenly clasped his hands together and bowed, “Sorry, my eyes were blind. May I ask which sect or school you belong to?”
Ye Fei laughed heartily, “Hey, no need to apologize. Anyway, I’m not going to tell you where I come from.”
Just then, a short, stout man approached from a distance, calling out loudly, “Young Master Ye, your arrival honors us. I, Gu Yan, apologize for the poor welcome.”
Hmm, the people from this detective company should at least be martial artists, but this fellow didn’t look the part—more like a loan shark coming to collect debts.
Ye Fei quickly plastered a smile on his face. Since coming down the mountain, he had mastered the art of playing along. Whenever he met someone who could help him, Ye Fei never spared his smile.
---
“Apologies for earlier. Peipei already told me—this time, all the expenses are on me.”
Oh, this boss was generous.
If it were someone else, they might have fallen out with Ye Fei, but Gu Yan was refreshingly unorthodox. Ye Fei waved his hand, “What are you saying? We’re at least acquainted now. I’ll cover the costs as usual. By the way, have you found anything?”
Ye Fei quickly shifted the topic. Gu Yan’s eyes showed a trace of disdain. This man was skilled—if they could get him on their side, the detective company would be unstoppable.
“You mentioned Wang Fang is from Huaxi Province. I checked all transportation, but she hasn’t boarded any. I suspect she’s still in Hang City.”
Still here? Why? Ye Fei frowned. This woman had the courage to take money but not to run away, leaving him at a loss.
Gu Yan continued, “We’ve encountered cases like this before—people who abscond with money usually vanish from the city the same day. But Wang Fang surprises me.”
If she’s not running, there’s only one reason: nowhere to go.
Wang Fang was an orphan raised by the Second Senior Sister. No matter her purpose, such ingratitude was unforgivable.
But how to find her?
“Any news on Wang Fang within Hang City? I refuse to believe she can survive without food or drink,” Ye Fei’s eyes turned cold.
Truly ruthless. Gu Yan’s heart sank. This Ye Fei must have a strong background—could he be a mercenary?
“Maybe she’s using someone else’s identity now. That would make tracking her much harder.”
Ye Fei’s frown deepened. They had to find Wang Fang before nightfall. Otherwise, this door would be hard to open. Besides, he’d been so busy that he had even forgotten about the two Senior Sisters waiting for him at home.
Huijing Company was one of the top detective agencies in Hang City and even South China. If they couldn’t find her, who else could?
Suddenly, a bright idea flashed through Ye Fei’s mind. “Wang Fang should be using a phone number, right?”
Gu Yan nodded. What kind of question was that? Who these days didn’t know how to use a phone?
“You can only access call records, but I—I can locate the exact position of the number.”
Gu Yan smiled slightly. In all his years in the business, he’d never met anyone who talked so big. Unless they were a top hacker, how could anyone pinpoint a number’s exact location?
“Mr. Ye, in all my years, I’ve never seen anyone who can track a number’s location.” His tone was dripping with sarcasm, and the respect in his eyes vanished without a trace.
---
He snorted coldly. Young people these days were not only incapable but always acted superior.
Ye Fei smiled lightly. “How about a bet? If I find Wang Fang by midnight tonight, Huijing Company will be at my disposal, deal?”
Huijing had thrown all their resources into finding Wang Fang, only to confirm she was still in Hang City. What could a mere kid find?
Gu Yan laughed. “If you fail, you’ll become a staff member of Huijing. Deal?”
He didn’t want to lose such a capable fighter and needed to find a way to keep him.
“Deal!”
Ye Fei left Huijing, a triumphant smile on his face. Looks like gathering information would become much easier now—the company was practically his.
A pink Maserati sped by in the distance, took a sharp turn, and stopped beside Ye Fei. A woman stepped out, dressed in a white gown that revealed her impeccable figure.
“Wow, sister, your figure’s as stunning as ever,” Ye Fei complimented.
Chen Yu looked on curiously. “You’re just teasing with words, right? Aren’t you capable for real?”
Chen Yu’s face was full of regret—such an outstanding man, and yet he was no good?
Ye Fei pushed her into the car. “Sister, that’s not your concern. Let’s go. I have a place to take you.”
He then sent the phone number via text to Yang Tianming and smoothly located Wang Fang’s whereabouts.
The twists and turns made Ye Fei’s head ache. He should have gotten the number from the Second Senior Sister first and had Yang Tianming check it—it would have been so much easier.
“Any leads? Gu Yan is considered one of the best in Hang City. Finding Wang Fang shouldn’t be hard.”
Ye Fei glanced sideways. “Once I find Wang Fang, Huijing is mine! I appreciate you praising my employee.”
...
By now, Chen Yu was no longer surprised by Ye Fei’s endless surprises. She just felt there were even more waiting for her to discover.
“How many surprises do you still have that I don’t know about?”
Ye Fei smiled faintly. “More than you can imagine. But for now, let’s find Wang Fang.”
