“So you want me to mess with you? Let’s see how you die,” Qin Feiyang sneered, then followed Ye Fei’s footsteps—one in front, one behind—into the Security Department.

The moment he stepped inside, Qin Feiyang shouted loudly, “What are you security guards even doing? Can’t you see a stray dog has come in? Why aren’t you throwing him out?”

At his words, a rather young-looking security guard stepped forward. Noticing Qin Feiyang’s designer clothes and obvious air of privilege, the guard didn’t dare show any disrespect and quickly asked, “A stray dog? Where? I don’t see any.”

“There!” Qin Feiyang pointed directly at Ye Fei. “Isn’t that it?”

The young security guard looked up, taking in Ye Fei’s unfamiliar face and cheap, out-of-place clothing, then walked over and asked, “Which department are you from? Show me your staff ID.”

Qin Feiyang’s eyes flashed with annoyance as the guard failed to immediately expel Ye Fei. He strode over, barking, “Why are you wasting words with him? Just look at him—he clearly doesn’t work here. Throw him out right now! Is this your first day on the job?”

The young guard’s face fell, and he retorted, “And who are you supposed to be? You think I’ll throw someone out just because you say so?”

“I’ll—” Before he could finish, a sharp slap resounded across his cheek.

“Shut up! You don’t even recognize Young Master Qin? Are you tired of living?” barked another voice.

The young guard froze, ready to retaliate, but then saw a familiar face. He shuddered. “D-Director…”

“Get lost!” the middle-aged man behind him roared. “If you don’t, you can consider yourself fired today!”

“Yes, yes…” The young guard, pale with fright, hurried away.

The middle-aged man then turned to Qin Feiyang, a toadying smile on his face. “Young Master Qin, what a rare honor! Forgive us for not coming to greet you properly!”

Qin Feiyang couldn’t help but smile at the obsequious tone. At last, someone with sense. The man before him was none other than Liu Dongming, head of Security for the Wangu Group.

“Hmm,” Qin Feiyang replied airily, putting on a show of superiority. “That guard just now—he’s new?”

Liu Dongming immediately lowered himself further, replying with even more flattery, “You’re so sharp, Young Master Qin, you saw through him at a glance. The kid’s ignorant—I’ll dock a month’s pay from his salary. Please don’t be upset, sir—it’s not good for your health.”

Qin Feiyang let it go, instead casting a sidelong glance at Ye Fei. “Old Liu, as head of security for Wangu Group, you and I are quite familiar. How could you neglect such a basic duty? Hurry up and throw this stray dog out.”

Liu Dongming paused, turning to look at Ye Fei—a stranger. Given Young Master Qin’s tone, he quickly caught on and put on a fierce expression. Pointing at Ye Fei, he barked, “Didn’t you hear Young Master Qin tell you to get out? If you know what’s good for you, leave now—or I’ll have someone drag you out!”

“I’m here to work,” Ye Fei replied calmly, not bothering to argue with a security chief. “My senior sister is your chairman—Lin Qiqing.”

“Oh, really?” Liu Dongming laughed derisively. “With that shabby look, you think you could be our Chairman Lin’s junior? Take a good look at Young Master Qin over there—only a true gentleman like him is worthy to associate with our Chairman Lin!”

Qin Feiyang basked in the praise, giving Ye Fei a smug, triumphant look.

Ye Fei found the whole thing amusing. He couldn’t believe someone like this existed in Wangu Group—his senior sister clearly had no idea.

He asked, “You’re the head of security, right?”

Liu Dongming snorted, “That’s right. I’m the head of security. Scared now? Then hurry up and get out!”

Ye Fei nodded with a smile. “Starting now, you’re fired. I’m taking your place as head of security.”

For a moment, Liu Dongming was stunned, then burst out laughing. “You? With your sorry state, you’re not even fit to step foot in Wangu Group, let alone be head of security. What a joke!”

But just as he finished speaking—

“Who says he’s not fit to step in here?” came a cold, clear voice from outside the door.

“I said it! And who the hell are you—” Liu Dongming began, but instantly regretted it. Cold sweat drenched his back.

Unbeknownst to him, Lin Qiqing had arrived at the entrance to the Security Department. She’d witnessed the entire scene just moments before, and her beautiful face was now clouded with anger.

Seeing his beloved goddess, Qin Feiyang hurried over with a bouquet, grinning. “Qiqing, I was just about to come find you in your office, but you’re already here! Here, these roses are for you—please accept them!”

Lin Qiqing looked at the persistent rich boy beside her with a clear headache. If it had been anyone else, she wouldn’t have bothered to acknowledge him, let alone dine together. But this man was none other than the renowned son of the Qin family. Offending him would make future negotiations difficult, especially since the Qin family controlled most of Hang City’s real estate, while Wangu Group’s primary business was also property. They were both competitors and partners.

Resigned, she accepted the flowers. “Qin Feiyang, haven’t I told you not to come to my company and disrupt my work? Please don’t do such childish things again.”

“I’m not disrupting your work—I just came to pick you up after work,” Qin Feiyang replied with a slight smile.

Lin Qiqing rolled her eyes inwardly and waved him off. “Let’s not talk about this now.”

She then turned to Liu Dongming. “Director Liu,” she said coldly, arms folded, “did you not hear a word of what I instructed President Gao to tell you? Is the chairman of this enormous Wangu Group really so lacking in authority? Or do you, the head of security, think you can usurp my decisions?”
