Chapter 16: The Bloodline of Farming
Page 1/3
Qiu Ci had never farmed before, let alone cultivated spiritual plants, but perhaps it was in the blood of the descendants of Yan and Huang to have an innate talent for farming. As she continued, she surprisingly found some joy in it.
She spent a week tilling the soil, a day sowing seeds, another day watering and fertilizing, and after half a month of waiting, tender green sprouts began to emerge in the medicinal field.
Gazing at the rows of pointed sprouts, an inexplicable pride welled up within her. This must be the bloodline talent; surely, she had awakened the Yanhuang bloodline. Though today they were just tiny shoots, before long they would...
Boom!
Everything was destroyed!!
Lightning bolts rained down chaotically, striking the earth and leaving a series of large craters. The tender sprouts were gone in an instant, and the entire medicinal garden was completely razed.
Qiu Ci was speechless.
My bloodline talent, gone!
“I am an envoy of the Immortal Alliance. The forbidden grounds of the Xuanyuan Sect have been desecrated. Do you acknowledge your guilt?!” A deep, resonant male voice echoed from above, spreading throughout the Xuanyuan Sect, carrying an undeniable aura of authority.
Qiu Ci looked up and saw two figures standing high in the sky. They wore pale blue robes embroidered with special auspicious cloud patterns. Their expressions were arrogantly haughty, heads held high even while hovering, exuding a supreme air.
More importantly, both were still surrounded by lingering lightning spiritual energy, clearly having just wielded lightning magic.
Qiu Ci glanced at the pockmarked medicinal field, the half-destroyed small hut, then back up at the two in the sky. A surge of unnamed rage ignited within her like wildfire.
Damn it, so you think you’re the only ones who can play with lightning!

With a twist of her hand, the lightning spiritual energy around her wildly converged into her palm. Fine threads of lightning flickered there, but unlike before’s white light, her palm glowed with purple lightning. The next moment, Qiu Ci raised her hand and hurled the purple lightning directly at the two above.
If no one lets me farm, then I’ll farm on them!
“Xuanyuan Sect, you’d better quickly… Ah!” The two in the sky hadn’t finished speaking.
Everyone heard a thunderous crash louder than before as a bolt of purple lightning suddenly flashed up from below, striking the two squarely.
They had no time to react and were hit dead center, their spiritual power dissipating as they fell straight down, landing with a thud right before the main hall.
The gathered Xuanyuan Sect members who had come out to greet them were speechless.
“Why do you, envoys, act with such disrespect?!” Sect Leader Qi Hong hurried forward, inwardly pleased but outwardly maintaining a composed expression as he reached out to steady them, as if blind to their charred appearance.
Those behind, after initial shock, struggled hard to stifle laughter upon seeing the envoys’ wretched state.
The two naturally understood they had lost face. They had intended to make a grand show before the Xuanyuan Sect but instead made a monumental blunder. Filled with shame and anger, they glared malevolently at the elders, ignoring their wounds, and accused, “What is the meaning of this, Xuanyuan Sect? Are you trying to rebel against the Immortal Alliance? How dare you attack us!”
“Misunderstanding, misunderstanding,” Qi Hong said repeatedly. “Our sect had no such intent. Besides, we did not initiate the attack!”
“Lies!” They seemed genuinely infuriated and relentless. “Don’t think we can’t tell. That was the Purple Dawn Divine Thunder you used—only a Nascent Soul True Immortal can wield such a technique. And among the Xuanyuan Sect, only your Supreme Elder has reached Nascent Soul.”
“That’s impossible,” Qi Hong said firmly, unwilling to take the blame. “Our Supreme Elder entered seclusion years ago and has yet to emerge. How would he attack you?”
The two glanced at each other, realizing it couldn’t have been the Supreme Elder. They hadn’t sensed any Nascent Soul aura, confirming the elder remained secluded. Still, the purple lightning’s origin was puzzling; it didn’t seem to be heavenly thunder but rather struck upward from below?!
“Then who attacked? It can’t be that we struck ourselves. Shouldn’t the Xuanyuan Sect provide some explanation?” They refused to relent, determined to find a culprit, conveniently forgetting they had provoked first.

“This…” Qi Hong frowned, and the other elders were equally upset, but the situation was unfavorable. The Xuanyuan Sect could not afford an open conflict with the Immortal Alliance—for the next time, the envoys might not be just two Golden Core True Immortals but Nascent Soul ones.
As he hesitated on how to reply, the Peak Lord of Biluol Peak’s eyes flickered, and he stepped forward. “Perhaps the envoys’ recent spell inadvertently triggered some forbidden traps within the sect, causing a backlash? You know, our sect still holds forbidden grounds with various protective enchantments.”
The two envoys’ expressions softened slightly, acknowledging the possibility since they had sensed no casting aura just now. Yet their anger remained.
“This matter can be discussed later. Today, we come on a mission concerning the forbidden grounds.” The envoy dressed in singed blue robes glanced at the elders and then raised his head to say, “Sect Leader Qi, you and your men have recklessly destroyed the demon clan’s forbidden grounds and broken the seals. Are you aware of your crime?”
Everyone’s faces changed instantly. Qi Hong’s eyes widened in shock. “What do you mean by that? We reported that the forbidden grounds collapsed suddenly and without cause. How can you accuse us of destroying it?”
“Hmph!” The singed blue-robed envoy sneered. “Do I need to be clearer? If your Xuanyuan Sect had not deliberately violated the forbidden grounds—a place dormant for thousands of years—how could it collapse so suddenly?”
“Envoy, mind your words!” Qi Hong and the other elders bristled. “You said the forbidden grounds have been here for thousands of years, impervious even to the Immortal Alliance. How could we possibly destroy it? Moreover, if there were anything inside, the Immortal Alliance would know better than us!”
“Impudence!” The envoy’s voice deepened, and a pressure typical of a late-stage Golden Core cultivator pressed down. “Our Immortal Alliance is sworn to eradicate the demon clans and protect the world. Do you doubt us?”
“Envoys, calm down.” Qi Hong stepped forward, radiating his own late Golden Core pressure to block the other. “We mean no disrespect to the Immortal Alliance. The forbidden grounds truly collapsed on their own, and we do not know why.”
“Collapsed on their own? Hmph! Do you take us for fools?” The singed blue-robed envoy sneered again, clearly skeptical. “If it collapsed on its own, why did you not present any demon clan artifacts? Don’t forget, when the forbidden grounds were first discovered, our Immortal Alliance True Immortals personally summoned Immortal Artifacts that sensed a massive demon clan presence, thus designating the place as forbidden.”
