“What are you all standing here for? Shouldn’t it be busy right now?”

Hua Bo and the others heard a gentle voice and turned to see Song Qingyin and Liang Song approaching.

These two were favorites of President Pei!

One was a special assistant, the other a secretary.

Moreover, they had heard rumors that Secretary Song’s relationship with President Pei was something special!

Exchanging glances, the group quickly nodded and greeted them, “Assistant Liang, Secretary Song.”

Hua Bo straightened up and replied on behalf of everyone, “We came to see off a colleague. We’re about to head upstairs.”

“To see off a colleague?” Song Qingyin’s eyes scanned the doorway before looking back at Hua Bo. “Shen Shuhe?”

“Yes.”

“Why say ‘see off’? What happened to her?” Song Qingyin pressed on.

Hua Bo was momentarily taken aback.

Why was Secretary Song so concerned about President Shen?

Could the two have known each other before?

With no time to ponder, Hua Bo answered truthfully as Song Qingyin waited, “President Shen resigned, so we came to bid her farewell.”

“Resigned?” Song Qingyin was surprised.

She glanced at the group; one woman’s eyes were slightly red, and she sniffled quietly, still upset.

Suddenly, Song Qingyin thought of something and turned to look at Liang Song.

His expression was calm and unreadable.

After a few seconds, Song Qingyin told Hua Bo and the others not to linger in the lobby and to return to work promptly.

Once they left, Song Qingyin looked at Liang Song again. “Did you know about this?”

Since she knew, Liang Song did not hide it: “Yes, I saw Miss Shen submit her resignation to HR.”

“So that day in the office, you wanted to discuss this matter, right?”

Song Qingyin recalled the conversation she had accidentally interrupted that day and how Liang Song mentioned Shen Shuhe’s name.

Liang Song nodded, “Yes.”

Receiving confirmation, Song Qingyin lowered her eyes in thought.

Shen Shuhe had been entirely devoted to Jing Mo, unable to be dissuaded—how could she suddenly resign?

Judging by the situation, Jing Mo was still unaware.

She didn’t know if the old madam had intervened.

It seemed she would have to keep a watchful eye.

Song Qingyin’s gaze darkened slightly. As she started to leave, she suddenly turned back and said softly to Liang Song, “Since Jing Mo doesn’t want to hear about Miss Shen, I hope Assistant Liang won’t say too much and trouble Jing Mo.”

“I understand,” Liang Song replied, bowing his head.

Afterward, Song Qingyin glanced at him before taking the elevator first.

Liang Song remained standing, watching her retreating figure.

It seemed Miss Song was not as indifferent as she appeared toward President Pei and Miss Shen.

He smirked and pressed the elevator button, waiting.

After going upstairs, Song Qingyin walked alone to an empty lounge.

Leaning against the railing, she gazed silently at the dense skyline, her brows furrowed deeply.

After a moment, she made a call.

Almost immediately answered, she said bluntly, “Keep an eye on Shen Shuhe’s recent activities. If anything happens, message me promptly.”

“And also at the old mansion.”

“Can’t get in? If not, have someone watch from outside. Do I need to spell it out for you?”

“I’ll send you money soon. Find someone more careful. Don’t let anyone notice.”

After hanging up, Song Qingyin’s brows knit even tighter.

Everything had been going according to plan. Once Jing Mo’s disgust toward Shen Shuhe reached a breaking point, she would fan the flames, and their relationship would collapse instantly.

But now, Shen Shuhe had disrupted the existing balance.

What exactly was she trying to do...

Song Qingyin paced restlessly.

She couldn’t just sit back and wait.

Right, Pei Leyao!

A faint smile touched her lips as she pondered a few seconds before dialing again.

“Leyao, are you free tonight? Let’s go shopping.”

Meanwhile, after leaving the Pei Corporation, Shen Shuhe followed the address Qi Zijin had given and drove there.

Half an hour later, they met at a café.

Their meeting was brief but efficient. Having successfully obtained the divorce agreement, Shen Shuhe thanked him again and promised to treat him to a meal next time.

Qi Zijin waved off her thanks, and after a few words, they each drove away separately.

Back in the car, Shen Shuhe called Wen Yu.

“Are you coming home for lunch?” she asked.

“No, I’m watching an artist shoot a commercial,” Wen Yu’s voice came through, faint background noise audible.

Shen Shuhe looked at the divorce agreement in her hand, a subtle smile lingering on her lips.

She said, “So I start work tomorrow?”

“Sure, I’ll take you to the company then.” Wen Yu was interrupted by a call and hurriedly said, “Let’s talk later tonight.”

“Okay.”

After hanging up, Shen Shuhe glanced at the folder—she had to handle this quickly.

Driving home, she eagerly found a pen, neatly signed her name without hesitation.

Checking the time, Shen Shuhe decided to eat first, then head to the mansion in the afternoon.

At three o’clock, after waking from a nap, Shen Shuhe grabbed a suit jacket and casually slipped on jeans.

Putting on a hat, she took her keys and left lightly.

An hour later, she arrived at the West Coast mansion.

Not seeing Aunt Li in the living room, she went upstairs to pack her belongings.

They were all trivial items, but she didn’t want to leave them behind.

***

If she was leaving, she wanted to do so cleanly.

Half an hour after tidying up, Aunt Li came in from the backyard.

She exclaimed joyfully, “Madam, you’re back!”

The marriage had been quietly arranged by Pei Jingmo, unwilling for anyone to know.

As for the divorce, Shen Shuhe didn’t want to make a fuss either.

Once Pei Jingmo had signed, she would let him handle everything.

So Shen Shuhe didn’t correct Aunt Li’s address. She nodded and greeted her, dragging her suitcase.

Aunt Li smiled warmly but noticed the suitcase in Shen Shuhe’s hand.

“Madam... what’s this?”

Moving again?

Shen Shuhe didn’t answer but said, “Aunt Li, I left some things for Pei Jingmo in his study. Please remind him when he returns.”

“Oh, alright...” Aunt Li sensed something amiss seeing her carry a suitcase and leave items for Pei Jingmo again.

But Shen Shuhe’s expression was calm, so she swallowed her questions.

“Rest assured, madam. I will inform sir.”

“Thank you,” Shen Shuhe said before pulling her suitcase and heading out.

Aunt Li watched her until her figure disappeared...

Then she went upstairs and opened the master bedroom.

Seeing the room’s layout, her face showed unmistakable surprise.

Since sir refused to share the bedroom with madam, almost all the belongings in the master bedroom belonged to madam.

But now, the items on the dressing table and small personal effects madam left in the room...

Everything that belonged to her was gone.

Aunt Li blinked, nearly understanding the situation.

Shen Shuhe placed her suitcase in the car, ready to leave, when Wen Yu called.

“Sweetheart, are you home?”

“No, I just left Pei Jingmo’s.”

“Ah, you delivered the divorce papers,” Wen Yu guessed immediately.

Shen Shuhe opened the driver’s door. “Yes. What’s up?”

“Nothing much. Come pick me up. Let’s go shopping. In a couple of days, I have to accompany an artist to a banquet and need to get an outfit.”

Hearing this, Shen Shuhe agreed, “Okay, wait for me. I’ll be there soon.”

“Alright, I’m waiting for you~”

After hanging up, Shen Shuhe buckled her seatbelt and drove toward Wen Yu’s company.
