Gaoyang furrowed his brow slightly and slowly stepped out from the shadows. His baseball bat shimmered with faint streaks of lightning, clearly ready to strike at any moment.

“Who are you?” Gaoyang asked coldly.

The man sized him up, his gaze resting on the lightning crackling along the bat, a hint of amusement playing on his lips.

“I’m Zhao Feng, the one in charge around here,” he said with a touch of pride. “Who you are doesn’t matter, but since you have powers, you should understand the rules of this apocalypse.”

Gaoyang didn’t respond, merely staring at him with icy detachment.

Zhao Feng’s expression hardened. “We’ve claimed this area. From now on, it’s under our control. The supplies belong to us. You’d better be smart and hand them over.”

Gaoyang sneered. “What if I say no?”

Zhao Feng’s face darkened instantly. His men raised their weapons, aiming at Gaoyang.

“Then you won’t leave here alive,” Zhao Feng said coldly.

The air thickened, the murderous intent palpable.

Gaoyang’s fingers tapped lightly on the baseball bat, the lightning growing stronger. His gaze was so cold it chilled to the bone.

“Care to try?” Gaoyang said evenly.

Zhao Feng hesitated briefly, then laughed heartily. “Interesting! It’s been a long time since I met someone as tough as you.”

He raised his hand and gestured, “Let’s see how strong your lightning really is!”

In the next instant, both sides moved simultaneously.

The dimly lit parking lot echoed with footsteps and heavy breaths, tension so thick it seemed ready to explode at any moment.

“Last warning—hand over the supplies!” Zhao Feng said coldly, his eyes sharp as knives, his rifle aimed squarely at Gaoyang.

Gaoyang stood beneath the faint light, the lightning on his bat flickering gently.

His gaze remained calm and unwavering despite the threat.

“You know I won’t agree,” Gaoyang said quietly, his tone imbued with an irresistible authority.

Zhao Feng sneered and pulled the trigger on his rifle.

Bang!

The bullet tore through the air, heading straight for Gaoyang.

Almost simultaneously, Gaoyang stepped down, his body moving like a ghost to evade the shot.

Lightning exploded beneath his feet, accompanied by a piercing hum.

“Attack!” Zhao Feng roared, and his men opened fire instantly, bullets raining down like hail.

Without hesitation, Gaoyang gripped the baseball bat tightly, lightning bursting forth from his palms.

He moved swiftly, his figure darting like a flash of lightning among the abandoned vehicles. Bullets skimmed past the edges of his clothes, but none struck true.

Sizzle!

A bolt of lightning suddenly exploded from the bat, striking an enemy hiding behind cover.

Before the man could even scream, he was seared by electricity, collapsing to the ground, convulsing uncontrollably.

“He’s got powers—be careful!” Zhao Feng gritted his teeth, commanding his men to adjust their fire and encircle Gaoyang.

Gaoyang’s eyes grew colder still. He took a deep breath and raised his right hand high, the lightning in his palm rapidly coalescing into a dazzling orb.

“Chain lightning!” he shouted, hurling the electric sphere forcefully.

The orb carved a brilliant arc through the air and slammed into the ground, unleashing a massive surge of electricity.

The current spread like a frenzy of serpents, instantly enveloping the surrounding enemies.

“Ah!”

A chorus of agonized screams rang out as Zhao Feng’s men fell one after another, some even blasted away by the lightning, crashing into derelict vehicles.

Lin Xue crouched behind a battered car, clutching a dagger tightly, her eyes full of terror and awe.

“So this is his power…” she murmured, her palms slick with cold sweat.

But the battle was far from over.

Zhao Feng lunged at Gaoyang, his body swelling instantly, muscles bulging like solid rock, radiating a fierce, savage strength.

“You think you’re the only one with powers?” Zhao Feng grinned, swinging his fist like a massive iron hammer, the whooshing wind roaring as it hurtled toward Gaoyang.

Gaoyang dodged with a sidestep, narrowly avoiding the punch, but the ground cracked deeply where Zhao Feng’s attack landed.

“An enhancement-type ability?” Gaoyang muttered, his gaze growing more serious.

Zhao Feng charged again, his speed and strength far beyond a normal man. Each punch carried destructive force.

Gaoyang kept retreating, parrying Zhao Feng’s blows with lightning, but Zhao Feng’s defense was astonishing. Even the lightning left only faint scorch marks on his skin.

“You dodged the first punch, but not the second!” Zhao Feng bellowed, smashing a fist into Gaoyang’s chest.

Gaoyang didn’t dodge. Instead, he gripped the bat with both hands and struck back squarely against Zhao Feng’s fist.

Boom!

The collision of lightning and brute force erupted in a deafening roar, both men staggering back.

Gaoyang stumbled a few steps; Zhao Feng retreated two steps, but quickly surged forward again.

“Gaoyang!” Lin Xue’s voice came from the side. She held a broken piece of glass and stabbed fiercely toward Zhao Feng’s back.

Zhao Feng reacted swiftly, twisting his body slightly and elbowing Lin Xue hard.

She was knocked flying, crashing heavily onto the ground with a pained grunt.

“Lin Xue!” Gaoyang shouted angrily, his eyes flaring with lightning.

His hands clenched the baseball bat tightly as a wild surge of electricity roared through his body like a raging tide.

“You’ve made me angry,” he said in a low, icy voice that seemed to echo from the depths of hell.

Zhao Feng sneered. “Then let me see what else you’ve got!”

Gaoyang inhaled deeply, crouching slightly, gripping the bat with both hands as all the lightning gathered at its tip.

“Thunder Judgment!” he roared, raising the bat high before slamming it down fiercely.

Crash!

A thunderous, ear-splitting explosion echoed as the entire parking lot was bathed in blinding lightning.

The electric current surged wildly along the ground, engulfing Zhao Feng completely.

Zhao Feng’s screams echoed through the parking lot as lightning struck him, his skin blackening rapidly, muscles contracting until he collapsed lifelessly.

Gaoyang stood in place, breathing heavily, the baseball bat faintly warm in his hands.

His gaze coldly surveyed Zhao Feng’s body, confirming there was no chance of survival.

“It’s over,” he said, his voice low but commanding.

Lin Xue struggled to her feet, clutching her shoulder, her eyes filled with complex emotions.

“Are you alright?” Gaoyang approached and helped her up.

“I… I’m fine,” Lin Xue whispered, but her eyes never left Gaoyang. “You… you were terrifying just now.”

Gaoyang said nothing, only patting her shoulder. “Let’s go. This parking lot isn’t safe anymore.”

The two quickly gathered their supplies and left the wreckage-strewn parking lot behind.
