Chapter 16: The Celestial Eye System

Shen Li’s eyes flickered as a faint smile played on her lips.
So, the drama from her past life was unfolding ahead of schedule.
During the previous filming, she had been unexpectedly injured. After the production team’s examination, it was confirmed to be a deliberate act. Shen Li had assumed the team wouldn’t hide or falsify such a matter—after all, causing harm to a cast member would damage the show’s reputation if it got out.
But when she returned to the set after treating her injury, everyone accused her of faking the whole thing, claiming she did it just to stir up publicity.
The director warned her, accusing her of damaging the show’s reputation. Afterwards, her screen time was drastically reduced, and every shot she appeared in was under Pei Wenxuan’s direction.
No matter how frantically she tried to explain or break down in tears, no one believed her.
Her teammates gradually became her adversaries, manipulated by Pei Wenxuan into acting against her.
Shen Li didn’t know exactly how her teammates viewed the news, but she was certain the outcome this time would be different.
What surprised her, however, was that Pei Wenxuan had now instructed Jiang Fuya to take charge personally. It seemed the online public opinion had indeed leaned in her favor—and had reached a point beyond Pei Wenxuan’s ability to salvage.
She lowered her gaze, smiling subtly without a sound, then feigned innocence as she asked, “What did I do? Why would Miss Jiang say such things about me?”
Jiang Fuya’s tone was gentle and amiable, but her words condemned Shen Li with finality: “Sister Shen, the staff have already found evidence in your bag. You injected the sheep with a hormone that stimulated their nerves, which caused them to suddenly go mad. The unopened syringe in your bag matches the ones found in the trash.”
Shen Li glanced around. The onlookers showed no change in expression, only disdain. Her teammates’ looks were complex.
She thought, perhaps at this moment they didn’t believe her, but felt sorrowful and frustrated over their recently formed alliance falling apart, maybe even directing their anger at her.
But it didn’t matter; everything would soon be different.
Shen Li withdrew her hand and stepped back a few paces, her eyes wary as she faced Jiang Fuya. “I have no idea what hormone you’re talking about, nor why those things would be in my bag. My bag was left in a public area; anyone could have touched it.”
“Sister Shen...” Jiang Fuya looked troubled yet moved forward with a pitying smile, attempting once again to soothe her, but Shen Li sidestepped.
“Don’t touch me!” Shen Li’s voice trembled with emotion. “You’re the real culprit! You know exactly how the sheep went mad, from start to finish! Even if, as you say, I staged the whole thing, I haven’t said a word yet—how did you know my plan? And know it in such detail?”
As soon as the words fell, Jiang Fuya’s face stiffened for just a moment—too brief for even the cameras to catch—then resumed her usual graceful smile that could charm anyone.
“Sister Shen, I understand your fear, your worry that everyone will blame you. Don’t be afraid. If you admit your mistake, I believe everyone will give you another chance. Just admit it, that’s all.”

At that moment, the crowd began to urge her on:
“Yes, just admit it.”
“Really good at staging dramas, why bother?”
“Jiang Fuya is so kind; she’s the only one who would try to comfort you. You should give up.”
Everyone sided with Jiang Fuya unanimously. Shen Li had anticipated this; Pei Wenxuan’s choice to have Jiang Fuya play this role was precisely because of this.
Because Jiang Fuya’s image was impeccable, any words she spoke would draw a swarm of followers.
Jiang Fuya had become the trendsetter among young people of this era.
Between a top celebrity who was beautiful and kind, and a “murderer” reviled by all, who would choose to believe the murderer?
Yet often, such moments were the best opportunities for Shen Li.
Believe Jiang Fuya, she thought with a sly curl of her lips—the more people trusted her, the worse her fate would be.
The live comment section was already ablaze with accusations:
— “I really believed Shen Li earlier, but it turns out she staged the injury drama herself, and last time, she pulled the innocent ‘white lotus’ act.”
— “Anyway, I’m definitely on Ya Ya’s side.”
— “Our Ya Ya is so kind, just ignore her!”
— “The whole show is ruined by a murderer.”
— “I trust everything Jiang Fuya says. Jiang Fuya is eternal! Shen Li can never clear her name! Curse her to death!”
In an instant, all voices surrounded Shen Li like a tightening noose. Behind the monitors, the director could barely suppress a smirk: “Pei’s method works every time. No matter how much Shen Li plays the victim, it’s useless. You can’t win against the stronger side. Pei is brilliant.”
A ruthless gleam flashed in Pei Wenxuan’s eyes as he smiled: “Heh, just wait. This is only the beginning.” She would suffer even more.
He had to make Shen Li pay with his sister’s downfall!

However, as his smile rose, Shen Li suddenly activated her virtual screen in front of the camera.
The breakdown he expected—the Shen Li who would crumble, scream, and be disbelieved—did not come.
“Where’s the head of tech? Stop her now!” he shouted in panic.
“I’m here! I’ll stop her immediately!” The tech chief assumed Shen Li was about to hack the production system again, but after a thorough check, there was no sign of that. Just as he prepared for a deeper scan, Shen Li began to speak.
“If you don’t believe me, then let the surveillance reveal the truth,” she said, sharing her virtual screen for all to see, crystal clear for everyone.
During the live broadcast pause, besides forming alliances with her teammates, she hadn’t been idly waiting.
In her previous life, Pei Wenxuan’s schemes had left her helpless and wronged.
This time, she learned her lesson and had installed a virtual “sky eye” system across the entire island—a transparent, invisible barrier recording everything happening on this land.
Simply put, a surveillance system.
She rewound the footage to before the sheep-feeding game began.
The sheep in the pen were bleating and wandering leisurely when suddenly a bright figure sneaked in.
At that moment, there was no shepherd watching the sheep. Shen Li paused and looked at the shepherd: “Where were you then?”
The shepherd scratched his head apologetically: “I suddenly had diarrhea and went to the toilet.” Some people nearby chuckled silently. Shen Li resumed the video.
The sneaky woman held a syringe in one hand and a small vial of medicine in the other—identical to the items found in Shen Li’s bag.
— “Why is Shen Li showing her own crime scene???”
— “Is she going to beat herself up and use this for publicity? If so, I respect her guts.”
— “Haha, ban the murderer now!”
— “Wait, that’s not Shen Li!”
The woman in the footage casually picked several sheep and quickly injected them. Then she looked around, and at that moment, Shen Li zoomed in on Jiang Fuya’s face.
Almost everyone gasped simultaneously…
